A LITTLE BIT

ABOUT ME

Office shot cropped_edited.jpg

My name is Vanessa Park

I've been writing since I could grip a pencil.

Whether bent over a composition book or a laptop, I’ve been writing ever since.

Words have power and can be used to change the course of a life. I’ve written letters for those desperate to make a case but unsure how to do it. I've ensured that people who are reinventing themselves and starting new careers have a flawless résumé and a kickass LinkedIn profile. My words

helped someone stay out of prison and another person get into officer’s training school; one business inspire a major investment, and another retain its importing license and keep its doors open.

I’ve worked with over 700 clients, from academics to entrepreneurs. I’ve written best-man speeches, artist’s statements, and real-estate copy. Along the way I’ve created promotional material for yogis, alarm system companies, marriage therapists, financial advisors, shamans, life coaches, roofing contractors, and more. I’ve edited books from 100 pages to 850, developed the writing of numerous non-native speakers who have important knowledge to share, and composed essays about Parisian cathedrals.

As a young girl and woman, I was fortunate to have teachers throughout my educational history who encouraged, guided, and validated my life’s pursuit. Under my own name, I have written dozens of articles about educational theory and child development, and had essays, articles, and short stories published in educational and literary journals, web-based magazines, as well as an anthology of essays.

A native of New York City, I graduated from the University of Virginia (BA/Echols Scholar) and have an MFA in fiction writing from Columbia University. I’ve raised two lovely human beings and now live nestled in the Hudson Valley, about an hour from Manhattan, with my rescue cat, Boo Radley.
